Wedding Ideas

Many brides especially those on a budget, want to save money by making stationary and other things for their wedding themselves. If you have time and a bit of creativity it is a brilliant idea , but not always making D.I.Y( do it yourself ) project is a cheaper way. As you have to count the cost of fabrics, paper, lace and endless other things, sometimes it is cheaper to order things from professional wedding websites. However  I do believe that by adding your personal touch to things you make yourself you also add a unique feeling to your big day.

 

 

It's going to take a lot of time to finish my personally designed wedding invitations, but I' m very proud and do enjoy myself in making them.

 

 

 

Make your own bunting :)
Think vintage floral and soft fabrics delicately hung from beams or marquee poles.When it is made with love, bunting is just perfect to lift a room or a garden.

 

 

 

 

Dried flowers are now the most popular choice for throwing at weddings. Many venues (including our venue too) now ban paper and non biodegradable confetti.

Dried flower confetti can be made from dried lavender, rose petals, hydrangea petals, cornflower and pretty much any flowers you can find in your garden. I started early in the summer when my garden was full of beautiful roses and now I'm picking the last flowers of hydrangea.

 

 

What's the best way to make sure your wedding favours don't end up just collecting dust on someones shelves? Make them edible!
You can make cookies, tiny picnic baskets filled with candy, sweets or chocolate. Or  even make your own jam! Jason's mum makes  the most delicious jams, conserves and relish. We used strawberry's when they where in season, picked some blackberries later in the summer and made some chili relish for our guests to take away :)

 

And my Mum is very talented at hand crochet. So she will be making some hand crochet doilies to decorate our tables :)

 

Depending on your time and skills, you could pretty much do everything for your wedding from making decorations to cakes and you can ask talented friends and family to help. So enjoy!
