Isabella- 16 Monts Old!

Dear Isabella,

I can't believe it has been 16 months since you were born. You're almost a year and a half old! It seems like just yesterday that you were this teeny tiny baby in my arms. I look at photographs taken of you over the months and am amazed at how quickly you change and grow.
Your rubberband wrists, thigh rolls and knee chubb are gone ... you've gotten tall and slim. You don't look like a baby any more. You look like a girl.
You're both funny and strong-willed. Smart and compassionate. It's amazing how much personality came with you into this world. And you are beautiful, both inside and out. I hope you always know how beautiful you are, and don't let any one ever make you feel otherwise.

We love you to the moon and back....
Your Mamma and Daddy.

Isabella weighs 11.260kg or 24lb. She is 86cm. tall! In 5 months time we have grown 12cm taller.
She have quite a few teeth. Her bottom molars poked out this past month making total of 8 teeth at the bottom. And the top 6 teeth makes 14 so far!

Isabella's words  suddenly started to explode with lots of different noises, sounds, letters. She looks for her shoes around the room and says: shooe, shooe. She nods her head and points to the door, meaning she's asking to go outside.
She also started to mimic word "I don't know", she shrugs her shoulders and shakes her head. Its so funny and it's so cute.
The words she says now:
Oohh
Nana
Baaa, baaa.
Kaar, kaar - when she hears the crow or magpie outside.
This
Dada. Mamma
Poo -when pointing to cat Poppy.
Shooe -as for shoes
Sheeshios-  as for Cheerio's
Da-  as for uncle Darius
Nam nam - when she is hungry
Hmmm - when tastes very yummy :)
Ba - bye bye
Katkar- Tractor
Naana- Banana

Loves the song "wheels on the bus." and '' old MacDonald had a farm''. It is now part of our driving and singing in Mummy's car  routine.  She looks at me all the time and does the "swinging side to side" motion with her arms and I sing the song. It's adorable.

She knows her shapes. Can play for a long time just sorting out different wooden pieces.
She is getting great at puzzles and matching them correctly.

She cries hysterically if you take away an eating utensil. If this girl has a spoon, she uses it, even if it means most of her soup ends up in her bib pocket, sometimes she even refuses to put a bib on.
She feeds herself at most mealtimes and looks at us with a very proud face.

She likes to put her dirty nappy or some random piece of paper, rubbish in the bin…sometimes she tries to take things out of the bin.

She knows most of her body parts and will point to them when we ask on her own body, or ours. She likes to dig inside my bellybutton. Laughs really hard when she does it. It kind of hurts, but it's cute.

Loves outdoors, swings, walking, running, playing with pebbles, water, and eating ice cream.

All of a sudden this little cute shy quite baby turned into loud, noisy, funny, screaming and demanding toddler!

She is very playful and mischevious. Always testing boundaries and playing little games with us.
She is constantly testing  us how serious is our NO is? or if YES definitely means a YES :)

Likes to play a game where she runs away from you and then we tell her'' Mummy is gonna get you'' and she runs away and laughs and laughs. And then suddenly turns around and runs towards you.

Has been a total daddy's girl for the last few weeks. It's always "dada dada dada."

She answers questions with yes or no all the time now. Not verbally, but by nodding or shaking her head.

She still loves to dance. We regularly "get down" to some tunes.

Isabella had her first pigtail in her hair this month. Her hair was finally long enough!
She still hate hairclips, and its Mummy's magic hand that is capable of putting that hair clip into her hair without her noticing.

She loves her bath! And hates when it ends....She refuses to get dry, pulls away her towel, protests  to put her nappy on, and runs naked down the corridor. It takes a few minutes before her ''battery'' runs out and she comes for Mammas cuddles. Then is time for nappy, pyjama, milk and bedtime story....

She loves to colour with her crayons.
Loves paddling pool, playing with pebbles, loves playing with water table, but not so keen to be in a sand pit.
She sat for a good 5 min. on her potty with out nappy. With out success. She now always brings her changing mat to us when she's done No.2. and asks to be changed. Immediately.
She knows how to sip and how to drink from the proper open mug/cup.
She loves Strawberries, peas, blackberries, nectarines, kiwis and all the other fruit on this planet!
She loves her veggies too. Not so keen on meat....unless is mashed, blitzed or pureed!
Loves toast with home baked bread and almond butter. Loves yoghurts, crème fraiche, fromage frais, coconut milk, cows milk and only soft spreadable cheese.
Loves all Nutribullet smoothies with spinach, kale and fruits. We call them Shrek's Smoothies as they are bright green in colour :)
